Honey

Honey is what started our story back in 1925. The Early family had a surplus of honey that year, and Mamie had the idea to bottle and sell the Clover Honey from their homestead to the folks passing by on Old Highway 31. With 2 old barrels, a couple planks of wood, and a honey for sale sign made by young Erskine, Early's Honey Stand was born! Today we have a wide variety of honeys, and whether you're looking for local (Spring Hill, TN) or just something to sweeten your tea, we've got you covered! We work with small beekeepers for every single honey we carry, and once you get a taste, you'll understand why we like to keep it that way.

Country Sausage

Early's Original Recipe Country Sausage is still made the same way it was back in 1925 by Talbot Early, Erskine's Father. It's said that the man who lived across the way from the Early Property barged into the smokehouse one winter morning and begged to try a Poke of the sausage. He explained that it had woke him up that morning, and he just couldn't get his mind off of the delicious aroma. Since then, we've released our Nitrate-Free and Spicy Nitrate Free versions that are just as delicious!

Country Bacon

We've had a lot of fans of our Bacon through the years, and we like to say that Early's Bacon is "fit for the king!" Elvis Presley was known to be a fan of our Bacon. Colonel Parker would order Bacon by the "carton", shipping it to concert venues to make sure it was backstage for the King of Rock & Roll. It was often paired with fine Cuban Cigars, and Mountain Valley Spring Water.

Country Cupboard Mixes

Mamie's Country Cupboard was an original collection in some of the first catalogs the Early family sent out. We still use the term Country Cupboard to describe our collection of mixes, because they are great to have in your cupboards for a quick meal that the whole family is sure to love. Choose from our Stone-Ground Grits, Seasoned Flour, Cornmeal, or for an even quicker fix, our Biscuit or Griddle Cake mixes!

Jams, Jellies, Preserves, & Butters

Mamie Early was well known across Spring Hill for her jams & jellies. She would often give them as gifts to her friends and family, Erskine recalled having a cupboard full of jams and jelly in his childhood home, which made it hard to pick which jelly to have on his biscuits each day. Our selection of jams, jellies, preserves & butters are based on Mamie's original recipes, and made with the same attention to quality.

Tennessee Sorghum

Sorghum is a piece of Tennessee History! Large-scale production began in the 1850s. By the 1900s, 20 million gallons of were being produced annually due to the skyrocketing price of cane sugar and molasses during the civil war. During World War II, an intense farm labor shortage depleted sorghum production by 19 million gallons. Today, the U.S. produces only 1 million gallons each year! We love it mixed with butter and poured over warm biscuits, or in Sorghum cookies!
