In charge of bringing a side to the BBQ? You can't go wrong with our Baked Bean Recipe!
Ingredients:
1 pound Early's Bacon Ends & Pieces
1 medium white onion, diced
4 cans of pork and beans (56 ounces total)
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup Early's Sweet Mesquite Molasses BBQ Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large frying pan, cook your bacon ends and pieces. Drain your bacon once cooked. Save about 1 Tabespoon of bacon grease and discard (or save!) the rest of the grease safely.
2. Cook onion in the frying pan with your Tablespoon of bacon grease over medium-high heat until tender, about 5 minutes.
3. Add ketchup, BBQ Sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to the frying pan and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
4. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Place 2 cans of beans with the sauce into the dish, and drain the other two before adding them in. Add in all of the contents from the frying pan into the dish, then stir until mixed.
5. Place the lid or aluminum foil over the baking dish and bake for 45 minutes. Remove cover after 45 minutes, then cook for an additional 15 minutes.
6. Remove from the oven, then let sit for at least 20 minutes before serving, to let the sauce thicken.
